YouTube creator MrBeast and Beast Industries chief executive officer Jeff Housenbold have invested $250,000 for a 55 percent majority stake in Ball 2, an artificial intelligence powered toy ball, Dexerto reported. The investment deal was struck on the Season 18 premiere of the American reality television show Shark Tank, which aired on September 30. MrBeast and Jeff Housenbold appeared on the show as guest investors. [1][3]
According to Dexerto, Sperry Labs co-founders Andrew Brown and Kevin Langdon, who are first cousins from rural Pennsylvania, initially asked for $200,000 in exchange for a 10 percent stake in their company. Dexerto and The Times of India both reported that Ball 2 is a $69 foam ball. Dexerto reported that the ball is packed with sensors to measure throws, spins and bounces, and it never needs charging. [1][2]
Dexerto also reported that players can describe a game to the toy ball companion application, which uses artificial intelligence to build the rules within moments. Artificial intelligence refers to computational systems that perform tasks typically associated with human intelligence, such as learning, reasoning and decision making. [1][5]
