Moving away from PlayStation 5 exclusivity for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation was an inevitable outcome of the changing environment surrounding players, according to director Naoki Hamaguchi. GamesRadar and GamesRadar+ both reported that Hamaguchi said players are no longer tied to a single piece of hardware. FRVR reported that the director stated big budget game development is no longer about high performance, but about meeting players wherever they are, adding that the Nintendo Switch 2 can handle the title. Separately, IGN reported that new footage of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation revealed a hot springs feature. This gameplay mechanic boosts the party's health and provides a set of new bathing suit skins for the character cast. [3]

In addition, PlayStation Universe and GamingBolt reported that Hamaguchi said he did his best to push for a physical release. Gamereactor UK reported that the physical disc includes only the game's opening. As FTMQ Gaming reported earlier, physical copies will require a mandatory download because the total file size is expected to reach approximately 200 gigabytes. [8][10][11][17]

Hamaguchi serves as an executive officer and studio head at Square Enix, having joined the company in 2003 and worked on Final Fantasy XII as well as the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy. The Final Fantasy role-playing franchise was created by Hironobu Sakaguchi and first launched in 1987. [12][13][15][16]
