Riot Games reveals expanded Valorant Champions Tour format for 2027

Riot Games has unveiled major structural changes to the Valorant Champions Tour for 2027, introducing an expanded global calendar with more than 50 events staged across 15 host cities. Red Bull and Shabakat Tawasul reported that the new tournament-focused format will feature open qualifiers and additional competitive opportunities for international esports teams. [1][3]

The revamped circuit includes regional events alongside international tournaments. Facebook reported that Manila will host the inaugural VCT Pacific Cup from April 29 to May 23, 2027. Inven Global reported that a Valorant Masters tournament is scheduled to take place in Seoul on February 20, 2027. [2][6]

Valorant is a competitive first-person shooter, and the Valorant Champions Tour is its official global esports league organized by publisher Riot Games. The tour was first announced in 2020 and ran its inaugural season in 2021, culminating annually in the Valorant Champions championship tournament. [7]

The changes were revealed as the Valorant Champions 2026 event in Shanghai approached its Grand Final. Red Bull reported that the updated structure aims to allow regional challenger teams to climb into top-level global competitions more easily throughout the 2027 season. [1]
