Xbox has rolled out Mythic Achievements to participants in the Xbox Insiders preview program, Pure Xbox reported. Xbox Insiders are able to test system updates before they are released broadly. Pure Xbox reported that a full public release for all console users will follow in the coming weeks. [1]
According to Pure Xbox, Mythic Achievements serve as the Xbox equivalent to PlayStation Platinum Trophies. A player earns a Mythic Achievement after completing all original achievements in a base game. Pure Xbox noted that players will not need to unlock extra achievements added in downloadable content or later updates. [1]
Pure Xbox reported that the feature backdates completion records across 20 years of platform history. The system accounts for eligible completions extending all the way back to the Xbox 360 era. TrueAchievements also reported on the feature, asking players in a poll how many Mythic achievements they have unlocked. [1][4]
The reward system is currently restricted to players enrolled in the preview program, Pure Xbox reported. The feature will open to the general Xbox public after testing finishes in the coming weeks. [1]
