Developer and publisher Owlcat Games is collaborating with former Dragon Age lead writer David Gaider on its upcoming action role-playing game, The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, Eurogamer and PC Gamer reported. In addition, IGN and Push Square reported that the studio has recast the voice and updated the face model for the game's male protagonist following fan feedback from a beta test. [2][3][4][5]

Actor Blythe Melin is the new voice for both the male protagonist and his brother, J, according to IGN and Push Square. Owlcat Games stated in a blog post that the previous voice work felt less expressive than intended, following fan complaints that called the original beta performance flat and boring. Push Square noted that the developer also showed off a dramatic visual update to the character's default face model alongside the casting change. [3][4]

David Gaider served as the lead writer on Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age II, and Dragon Age: Inquisition, Eurogamer reported. Gaider expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating that The Expanse has long been one of his favourite series and he jumped at the opportunity to participate, according to GamesRadar and PC Gamer. The Expanse franchise originated as a science fiction novel series created by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck. [1][2][5][7]

The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is an action role-playing game being developed in partnership with Alcon Interactive Group. Owlcat Games plans to release the title on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. As FTMQ Gaming reported earlier, original Dragon Age studio BioWare was closed by publisher Electronic Arts in October 2026. [7][10][11]
