Meta has released open source code that allows developers to build custom hardware powered by its new Muse artificial intelligence agent, according to The Verge Tech and The Verge. The code enables users to connect the AI software to external displays and single board microcomputers like the Raspberry Pi. [1][4]

The Verge Tech reported that Meta suggested several potential DIY projects using the open source code. These include running Muse on a color E Ink screen to display personal reminders, installing it on an HDMI stick to stream the agent to a television, or connecting it directly to microcontrollers. [1]

Muse Spark is a large language model developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs that was introduced in April 2026 and launched as version 1.1 in July 2026. The software powers AI features across Meta products and supports multimodal reasoning, coding, and software development with a context window of one million tokens. [7]

The open source release comes amid broader attention regarding Meta's new software. TechRadar reported that cybersecurity firm Surfshark issued a warning about the high volume of data collected by Muse, while Reuters reported that Apple plans to alert users when AI software requests access to Mac system data following public complaints.
