Kingdom of Gaming, a new Saudi government-backed video game industry event, has been delayed from December to an unspecified date in 2027, GamesIndustry.biz and GameDev.net both reported. The event was originally scheduled to take place from December 1 to December 3 in Riyadh. [1][2]
GamesIndustry.biz reported that no official public announcement or explanation has been provided for the schedule change. However, as first reported by ReaderGrev, the official event website and social media accounts were quietly updated to read coming in 2027, replacing the original December dates. GamesIndustry.biz noted that the closest thing to an official acknowledgement came from Benjamin Kratsch, the chief business development officer at Saudi government-linked venture builder Levelz Gamin. [1]
Riyadh is the capital and largest city of Saudi Arabia, a country located in West Asia on the Arabian Peninsula, Wikipedia notes. [3]
The delay comes amid growing Saudi involvement in the games industry. As FTMQ Gaming reported earlier, a Saudi-backed consortium completed a 55 billion dollar buyout of Electronic Arts in August 2026. [5]
In short
- Kingdom of Gaming has been delayed from December to 2027.
