Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 DMZ mode details revealed

Xbox Wire and IGN report that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will include a new extraction mode called DMZ. An extraction mode is a game style where players enter a map to complete goals and must escape safely to keep their collected items. Xbox Wire reported that the mode is set on a new map named Hajin, which takes inspiration from locations in the single-player campaign. [1][2]

In the DMZ mode, players will explore an open-world combat environment. Xbox Wire reported that players must gather loot, finish objectives, fight artificial intelligence enemies alongside competing player Operators, and extract from the area before losing their earned items. [1]

According to IGN, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will conclude the story of the rebooted Modern Warfare series. IGN reported that the main narrative of the franchise has previously stretched across three main releases and additional cutscenes in the battle royale game Warzone. [2]
