The Call of Duty League Major II esports event will take place at DreamHack Birmingham in England from April 2 to April 4, 2027, according to Bleeding Cool News. Publisher Activision and organizer ESL FACEIT Group confirmed the tournament location and schedule. Qualifiers for the competitive esports circuit will begin on February 26, 2027, leading up to the live event in Birmingham. The first major of the season, Major I, is scheduled to start on December 4. [1]

Bleeding Cool News reported that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be the featured game for the Major II tournament. The Call of Duty franchise is a first-person shooter series published by Activision, which launched in 2003. Nintendo Life reported that Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch on October 23, 2026, on platforms including the Nintendo Switch 2. [1][5][8]

Players who gained early access to the Modern Warfare 4 campaign ahead of its full launch have given it positive responses, according to PCGamesN and Nintendo Life. PCGamesN reported that initial Steam user reviews for the single-player campaign were 90 percent positive across its first 2,000 ratings. Destructoid noted that the game will include multiplayer modes, an extraction DMZ mode, and limited carry-forward content. [2][3][5]

As FTMQ Gaming reported earlier, unionized quality assurance staff at Activision voted to authorize a strike shortly before the release of Modern Warfare 4. Modern Warfare 4 serves as the conclusion to the story arc of the rebooted Modern Warfare sub-series. [10][11]
