Polish video game company CI Games signed a 32 million dollar credit facility to complete production and self-publish Lords of the Fallen II, GamesIndustry.biz, Mezha.net, GameDev.net and WN Hub reported. The loan equals 28.6 million euros and was announced on October 30. [1][7][8][9]
GamesIndustry.biz reported that the syndicated loan was arranged with Polish lenders Erste Bank Polska and Bank Ochrony Srodowiska. The funding will cover the remaining production costs, marketing and launch of the action role playing game, as well as refinancing the developer's existing bank debt. Polish export credit agency KUKE is guaranteeing 80 percent of the facility, which matures in August. [1]
The financing follows the conclusion of a personal computer publishing agreement between CI Games and Epic Games earlier this year, according to GamesIndustry.biz. CI Games is a Warsaw based developer and publisher founded in 2002 that is also known for creating the Sniper Ghost Warrior franchise. [1][10][13]
The original Lords of the Fallen released in 2014 and sold more than 3 million units, while a reboot was developed by subsidiary Hexworks in 2023. CI Games plans to use the loan to fund its global marketing campaign and self-publish the new sequel. [1][13]
