Retailers have significantly increased the prices of used PlayStation 5 Pro consoles above the original manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP). Game Developer and GameDev.net both reported that GameStop and other retailers are selling pre-owned PlayStation 5 Pro units for up to 66 percent over MSRP. Softonic and The FPS Review both reported that used units are listed for as much as 1,499.99 dollars at GameStop, while Wccftech reported used prices reaching 1,399 dollars. [1][2][7][8][9]
Game Developer reported that an internal company email shared on the GameStop subreddit advised employees of the price increase on PlayStation 5 Pro hardware. Game Developer and BGR both noted that the price surges indicate console demand currently exceeds supply.
