The racing simulation game Gran Turismo 7 will imminently receive the first phase of its Spec 4 update, according to Push Square. The developer Polyphony Digital is releasing new content because the game is continuing to sell well and its player base is expanding. [1][3][4]

Push Square reported that series creator Kazunori Yamauchi made the comments to the racing website Traxion. Yamauchi stated that developers did not expect the racing title to sell so well this long after launch. He explained that ongoing additions, such as extra content and game modes, are sustained by the growing user base. [1][3]

The title is currently nearing its fifth anniversary on PlayStation consoles. As FTMQ Gaming reported earlier, third-party hardware manufacturers continue to support the racing title, including Thrustmaster with its TGT III racing wheel designed for Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
