Helldivers 2 mod adds first person mode for PC players

A new modification for the shooter Helldivers 2 allows personal computer players to play the entire title in first person, DSOGaming reported. Helldivers 2 was developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. DSOGaming reported that the new fan created mod enables first person view while moving on foot, operating mechs, driving the FRV, and operating stationary turrets. [1][3]

DSOGaming noted that mechs can utilize either a glass cockpit or a hidden cockpit view with the modification installed. Modifications, or mods, are user created alterations that change existing gameplay, alter visual graphics, or insert new custom content into a video game. [1][2]

Helldivers 2 gained massive popularity on personal computers following its launch, according to DSOGaming. The outlet reported that the game achieved a peak concurrent player count of 458,000 players on personal computers, making it one of the largest PC hits published by Sony. [1]

Arrowhead Game Studios was originally founded in 2008 in Skelleftea, Sweden, by Johan Pilestedt and fellow students from Lulea University of Technology. The developer previously released the cooperative action game Magicka in 2011, which sold over one million copies during its initial year before the studio developed the original Helldivers shooter in 2015.
