Developers at studio The Coalition spoke about the development of upcoming third person shooter Gears of War E Day at a pre launch event in London. PCGamesN reported that Creative Director Matt Searcy and Sandbox Designer Pax Lyle discussed building up terror and balancing controller with mouse and keyboard gameplay for the title. IGN and VGChartz both reported that Searcy and Studio Art Director Aryan Hanbeck addressed the game's status as an Xbox exclusive during an interview with content creator Destin Lergarie. Gears of War E Day is published by Xbox Game Studios and serves as the sixth main installment in the third person shooter franchise created by Epic Games. The game depicts the early days of the Locust War, setting its story fourteen years prior to the original game during Emergence Day. The narrative follows young soldiers Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago alongside Mags Carter and Lucas Reyes as they fight the invading Locust Horde in the city of Kalona. [1][7][8]
PCGamesN noted that the game returns to the origins of the series, offering a fresh entry point for new players who might hesitate to start with a theoretical Gears of War 6. Meanwhile, separate coverage from Kotaku highlighted the title's visual design, and technical analyses were conducted by GamingBolt and en.gamegpu.com regarding graphics comparisons between PC and Xbox Series X.
