Developer 4J Studios has announced that its open-world survival sandbox game Reforj will launch a closed playtest on PC in the first quarter of 2027. GamesIndustry.biz reported that the announcement was made during an interview with 4J Studios representatives Chris van der Kuyl and Joseph Garrett at the Game Republic New Horizons VIP reception. The closed playtest will initially be invite-only. GamesIndustry.biz reported that 4J Studios selected an invite-only model to ensure an optimised player experience while updating the game based on community feedback. The developer has not confirmed dates for broader access or subsequent testing phases. [1]
From 2012 to 2017, Scotland-based 4J Studios ported the sandbox video game Minecraft to multiple seventh and eighth generation consoles. These ports, known as legacy console editions, included releases on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, and Nintendo Switch. [5]
