Gears of War E-Day sells 400000 copies following Game Pass launch

Gears of War: E-Day has sold over 400,000 copies on console and PC, according to reports from IGN, Insider Gaming, Men's Journal, and iXBT.games. IGN and Men's Journal reported that the sales figure was originally cited by The Verge correspondent Tom Warren, one month after the game released. The title is available on Xbox consoles and PC. The low sales total comes despite strong critical reception. IGN reported that the title received high scores from reviewers and fans, including a 9 out of 10 score from IGN itself for its story campaign and multiplayer mode. IGN noted that availability on Game Pass, a subscription service that provides access to a downloadable catalog of games for a monthly fee, is likely responsible for suppressing direct unit sales.
