Developer Battlefield Studios addressed player criticism on its official Discord server after controversial character cosmetics launched in Season 5 of Battlefield 6, IGN reported. The cosmetics were officially added to the first-person shooter on October 13 and drew immediate backlash from fans. IGN and IGN Southeast Asia both confirmed that the developer offered background information on two specific skins that caused concern. [1][4]

The controversy centered on two cosmetic skins, including one featuring an apparent spelling error that rendered the word security as secuty, IGN reported. Another skin faced player mockery for showing an infantry character wearing five pistol holsters. According to se7en.ws, players created online memes about the paid cosmetics, calling them artificial intelligence generated content. [1][5]

Battlefield Studios confirmed in its full Discord statement that a fix is currently in the works for at least one of the cosmetic issues, IGN reported. However, the developer indicated that the second skin design will seemingly remain unchanged. In related news, CNET and Tech Insider reported that Battlefield 6 is available to play on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. [1][2][3]
