Ghost Town Games details splitscreen online co-op for Stage Fright

Developer Ghost Town Games is designing its cooperative adventure game Stage Fright to feature splitscreen play during online multiplayer sessions. PC Gamer reported that the studio wants online players to share the same visual experience as those sitting on a couch together. [1]
Ghost Town Games co-founder Phil De-Vine told PC Gamer that local cooperative play offers a unique experience compared to standard online games. De-Vine stated that Stage Fright relies on players being able to observe what their partner is doing and communicate effectively during gameplay. [1]
Ghost Town Games previously created Overcooked, a cooperative cooking game released in August 2016 for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One, followed by a Nintendo Switch version in July 2017. In Overcooked, up to four players work together in chaotic kitchens to prepare and serve meals under strict time limits. [1][4]
The studio described Stage Fright as a more positive cooperative adventure than its earlier cooking series. The developer intends for the splitscreen design to make online play feel as close to local cooperative play as possible. [1]
