Nintendo is confident that it has secured a sufficient supply of memory components for its Nintendo Switch hardware during an ongoing global memory crisis. Game Developer reported that company president Shuntaro Furukawa addressed the hardware supply situation during Nintendo's second-quarter financial report. Furukawa stated that the company is currently not suffering from the supply shortages. [1]

According to Game Developer, rising memory component costs across the globe have created launch uncertainty and forced price increases for hardware products across the industry. In a quarterly financial report captured by Reuters, Furukawa noted that the memory situation has not seen a major change from Nintendo's perspective. He indicated that while the broader memory crisis is not improving, it is not worsening for Nintendo. [1]

The memory component supply affects hardware production for the Nintendo Switch family of systems. Nintendo originally launched as a manufacturer of hanafuda playing cards in late 1889 in Kyoto, Japan. The company later released the Nintendo Switch 2 console worldwide on June 5, 2025. The hybrid system features magnetic Joy-Con 2 controllers, a liquid-crystal display, expanded internal storage, and support for up to 4K resolution output. [2][3]
