World of Warcraft Forever launches globally with altered original content

Blizzard Entertainment released World of Warcraft: Forever on 4 November 2026 for PC subscribers. MassivelyOP and the Twitch Blog both reported that the online game rolls back Azeroth to its original launch setting while adding fresh content. MassivelyOP detailed that the title includes new quests, mechanics, talents, and extra features built into the classic base game. [2][5][14]

IGN reported that it spent 30 hours testing the pre-release beta ahead of the full launch. GamesRadar separately reported that the final patch released before launch caused a minor revolt that forced the Shaman class Discord server into a lockdown. [1][3][8]

As FTMQ Gaming reported earlier, access to World of Warcraft: Forever is included with a standard active World of Warcraft subscription. The release follows a three-week beta phase where players created over 8.8 million characters, marking the largest beta testing period in the history of the franchise. [13][14]
