World of Warcraft Forever launches globally on 4 November

Blizzard Entertainment is launching World of Warcraft: Forever globally on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, at 6 p.m. EST, according to Polygon and IGN. The massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) will be available to players with an active World of Warcraft subscription. Microsoft subsidiary Xbox UK briefly posted on X that the title was coming to Xbox consoles, but Windows Central reported that Xbox UK confirmed the post was incorrect. [1][3][5][10]

World of Warcraft: Forever is based on the original 2004 version of the game, but includes rebalanced character classes, upgraded graphics, modernized features, and new content. Developers Clay Stone and Nora Mills discussed the project's release schedule and structural approach, while Xbox Wire detailed new controller support features. A player named Arhkain has also created dev vlogs for a mod called Retro Forever, which turns the game into a first-person fantasy role playing game. [1][4][6][7][10]

As FTMQ Gaming reported earlier, Microsoft Chief Executive Satya Nadella announced that the title held the largest beta test in the history of the franchise, which offered access through premium bundles priced from 60 dollars.
