Discord announced a policy change that will make messages from its largest public servers searchable on web search engines including Google. Engadget, Dexerto and IGN all reported that the rollout aims to make public conversations easier to find without requiring users to join a server first. [1][2][3]

Starting on November 16, Discord discoverable servers will receive Server Web Pages that display basic server information and channel discussion summaries, according to Engadget and IGN. Engadget reported that by mid-December, individual public channel messages could start appearing word-for-word on search results and Server Web Pages. [1][3]

Dexerto reported that the update includes privacy controls for server administrators. Neither channel summaries nor individual channel messages will show post details, according to Engadget. [1][2]

Discord is an instant messaging and voice platform that organises chat rooms and voice channels into communities called servers. The software runs on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, iPadOS, Linux and web browsers. [8]
