GTA 6 Television Advertises Shortened Trailer During NBA Season Openers

Rockstar Games has broadcast a modified version of the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer during national basketball games, cutting explicit shower scenes.

A modified version of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 launch trailer aired on television during the opening night of the NBA season on October 20. Kotaku reported that social media users spotted the television advert during a game between the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers, as well as during games featuring the Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, and San Antonio Spurs. The broadcast advert removed two shower scenes that were included in the original launch trailer, Kotaku reported. However, the trimmed television clip contained a few milliseconds of new footage. [1]

Anticipation for the action game, developed by Rockstar Games, remains high ahead of its scheduled release. Destructoid reported that preorders for Grand Theft Auto 6 are 148 percent higher than those for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II from 2022, placing it on track to become the most preordered game of the decade. The surge in interest comes alongside broader promotional activity and public attention. Dexerto reported that a man claimed he was fired from his job after leaking Grand Theft Auto 6 advertisements worth 4 million dollars on Miami Beach. [5]
