Rockstar Games has released a 90-second launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, according to reports by Kotaku and Digital Foundry. Kotaku and Digital Foundry both report that the new video provides a fresh look at the upcoming action-adventure game, which is developed and published by Rockstar Games. [1][3][6]
Digital Foundry reported that the footage suggests an animation pacing issue seen in earlier trailers may be fixed. In previous videos, camera movements and character animations appeared jerky even while the overall frame rate looked stable. Digital Foundry also examined the clip for any indication of Sony's new QSSR upscaler, a technology used to increase image resolution. [3]
Kotaku reported that the new trailer features an army backstory, a shower sex scene, and a blurry camera lens effect. Some viewers are complaining about the smudged lens aesthetic and accusing the studio of visual downgrades before launch. Grand Theft Auto 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida and follows the criminal duo of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. [1][6]
Separate coverage by BGR reported that Costco members can save $10 on the PlayStation 5 version of Grand Theft Auto 6. Grand Theft Auto 6 will be the eighth main entry in the long-running series, following Grand Theft Auto V, which was released in 2013. [2][6]
