Unofficial native PC ports for the action games The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King are now available for PC players. DSOGaming reported that players no longer need to rely on console emulation to play the titles on computer hardware. [1]

A developer known as Gumpolas worked on the unofficial PC port of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. According to DSOGaming, the latest build adds 33 extra languages covering all game text, subtitles, and menus. [1]

The games are based on the fantasy stories written by J. R. R. Tolkien. The Two Towers was first published in 1954 as the second volume of The Lord of the Rings novel series, positioned between The Fellowship of the Ring and The Return of the King. [3]

The native PC releases follow earlier project updates from July 2026. DSOGaming reported that high-definition texture packs were previously released for the GameCube versions of both titles before these direct native PC ports became available. [1]
