Developer Bulkhead and publisher Team17 are launching Season 2 for the early access sandbox shooter Wardogs, introducing new gameplay mechanics designed to rebalance match dynamics. GamesRadar, Polygon, Rock Paper Shotgun, and IGN all reported that the update allows players to place cash wagers on their own in-game performance. GamesRadar and PC Gamer also reported that Bulkhead is introducing cash and experience point bonuses to entice players to join the blue team, which has suffered from a lower win rate. To address team balance, GamesRadar reported that Season 2 alters blue team spawns and uniforms, while adding bonuses and multipliers for the Lonestar faction. GamesRadar and PC Gamer further noted that new restrictions will limit team switching. Once a team leads by more than 10 points, players cannot switch teams for 15 minutes after joining. Additionally, players who switch teams or join a match in progress will have their map obscured and will be barred from using the spawn vehicle until they reach the control zone for the first time. The update brings further changes to combat conditions. IGN and Rock Paper Shotgun reported that Season 2 introduces rainstorms, which affect gameplay and disrupt snipers. According to reports from Shacknews and Simulation Daily, the second season will also add new weapons, vehicles, and additional features. [4][6][8][10]
Wardogs is a first-person shooter inspired by the King of the Hill mod for Arma 3. In the game, players join one of three mercenary factions to fight over a randomized control zone in the Caucasus region. The game released into early access for PC on 10 September 2026, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S releases planned for 2028. [11]
