Action role playing game Control Resonant has sold one million copies in three weeks, developer and publisher Remedy Entertainment announced on October 15. The game launched on September 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC, including platforms such as Steam and the Epic Games Store, as reported by RPG Site and Push Square. IGN, PC Gamer, Destructoid, and Push Square confirmed that the milestone makes it the fastest-selling game in the studio's history. [1][2][3][4][6][10]
The sales pace surpassed the previous record holder at the studio, Alan Wake 2, according to reports from IGN, Destructoid, and Push Square. Remedy celebrated the milestone on social media, with communications director Thomas Puha describing the launch performance as a strong start, IGN reported. RPG Site noted that physical console editions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X arrived at global retailers on the same day as the sales announcement. [1][3][4][6]
IGN reported that the game achieved the sales figure despite software leakers cracking and pirating the title following its digital release in September. The game is a direct sequel to the 2019 title Control and is also scheduled to launch on macOS later in 2026. [1][10]
