Video game studio Evil Empire is moving forward with future projects, including work on a dream collaboration, according to PCGamesN. The studio was originally created by four co-founders to support the game Dead Cells, while original developer Motion Twin moved on to build the title Windblown. Evil Empire chief executive officer Thomas Pfeiffer and head of business Ben Laulan spoke to PCGamesN about the studio's future. [1][4]

Evil Empire gradually grew from its initial four co-founders to 15 developers, eventually reaching 50 employees, PCGamesN reported. The expansion accompanied the launches of games such as The Rogue Prince of Persia and Castlevania: Belmont's Curse. The studio previously co-developed major updates and downloadable content for Dead Cells, including The Bad Seed, Fatal Falls, The Queen and the Sea, and Return to Castlevania. [1][5]

Dead Cells originally released in early access for Microsoft Windows in May 2017 before reaching full launch in August 2018 on Windows, macOS, Linux, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The roguelike action game later expanded to iOS and Android, followed by native releases and backward compatibility for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. [4][5]

While Evil Empire looks to its future releases, players in Dead Cells continue to navigate procedurally generated levels and permadeath mechanics. Pocket Gamer separately published updated player guides ranking the game's various melee weapons, ranged items, grenades, turrets, and traps for version 3.5.15. [2][4]
