Digital storefront Steam is rolling out a new feature called achievement sets, The Verge Games reported. The system allows game developers to group achievements into separate lists for base games and downloadable content, known as DLCs. Valve stated that players will continue to unlock achievements through normal gameplay. [1]
When players browse their unlocked rewards, the Steam client will split the full list of achievements into specific sets created by developers. According to The Verge Games, Valve said this structure makes it easier for players to track their completion progress and locate related achievements. Each achievement set includes its own dedicated progress bar. [1]
Steam is a PC game distribution platform operated by the American video game studio Valve. The service originally launched as a software client in September 2003 to deliver automatic updates for Valve games, before expanding to sell third-party titles in late 2005. [2]
The update changes how players track completed content across expanded PC titles. As FTMQ Gaming reported earlier, major releases on the platform continue to draw large audiences, with games such as CD Projekt Red's action role-playing title The Witcher 3 Remastered recently reaching a peak of 137,724 concurrent players on Steam.
