The hacker group Cyberleek has threatened to release a complete build of Grand Theft Auto 6 that can be played from start to finish. According to reports from PC Gamer, Rock Paper Shotgun, Eurogamer, and Dexerto, the group is demanding that publisher Take-Two Interactive issue a public apology and commit to releasing the game on physical discs. Dexerto and Rock Paper Shotgun also reported that the leak was tied to funding the group in cryptocurrency or reviving its custom memecoin. [1][2][3][4]

The threat comes after Cyberleek published 25 minutes of footage from the upcoming game earlier in the week, Eurogamer reported. Dexerto added that content creator LegacyKillaHD highlighted the group's post on social media platform X on October 10. LegacyKillaHD warned that major story spoilers might be released to prove that the leakers possess a full build of the title. [3][4]

Take-Two Interactive and developer Rockstar Games have been actively seeking to identify the individuals behind the security breaches, Eurogamer reported. Eurogamer noted that Rockstar Games previously called the leaks heartbreaking, while maintaining that development on the project would continue as planned. [3]

Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S consoles next month, according to Rock Paper Shotgun and the Daily Express. Rock Paper Shotgun noted that Rockstar Games has not yet announced a release date for the PC version. [2][10]
